I am a dressmaker, jewellery maker, embroiderer – well, general crafter really. Craft has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I get a little jumpy if I’m away from my “cupboard of all things” for too long!
Although most of my working life has been spent in Administration (yawn) I have often held stalls at craft and vintage fairs over the years and have also sold work at local libraries.
For a couple of years I ran a weekly market stall selling beads and jewellery making goods and I taught workshops on the basics of jewellery making as well as holding parties for both children and adults. (I have since gained a Certificate in Training Practice from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and plan to offer more courses/workshops in the future.)
When my sons were very little I completed City and Guilds certificates in Embroidery and Design. I loved my once-fortnightly escapes into the world of threads, dyes and cutting-and-sticking and am very proud of the stitch portfolio I completed at the time.
In 2012 I upped sticks and removed myself to Warminster in Wiltshire where I am determined to carve out a life as a crafter.
I love to rummage in charity and junk shops, I love to recycle, I love to make things, and I love to share that love with others. That’s what I hope will shine through at GlamUpcycling…
